The employment is limited to 24 months, subject to the approval of funds (§ 14 para. 2 TzBfG).

The Department of Cutting and Joining Manufacturing Processes at the University of Kassel deals with both cutting and joining manufacturing processes. The department focuses on the areas of joining technology, mechanical processing and research into new material systems.

Tasks:

Supervision of test rigs and systems engineering, particularly in the field of mechanical processing
Computer-aided design of test equipment and components
Production/construction and commissioning of experimental equipment and operating stands
Production of test specimens
Independent preparation and execution of experiments
Maintenance and servicing of laboratory equipment

Requirements

Successfully completed training as an industrial, tool or machining mechanic or similar training and further training as a technician or further training as a master craftsman
Confident handling of the operation and programming of machines and systems (CNC and NC controls)
Experience in computer-aided design (CAD)
Careful, independent and team-oriented way of working
Experienced handling of MS Office
