The Development Planning Department (with a total of four units for development planning and one unit each for junior academics and for strategic issues of personnel development and internationalization) advises the President's Office on all essential issues relating to the strategic positioning and development of the university. It supports the Executive Board in systematically linking strategic development, planning processes, control procedures and resource allocation and provides the necessary analyses.

Your tasks:

As a planning officer, you will be responsible for one of the four planning units (with responsibility for the Departments of Mathematics and Natural Sciences and Ecological Agricultural Sciences) and, together with the other units, will manage structural, equipment, capacity and development planning for the subjects. In coordination with the departments and staff units, you will also advise the university management on the development of strategic concepts and support their implementation with suitable management tools. In addition, you will support central university committees, in particular the regular meetings of the Executive Board and department heads in accordance with Section 37 (9) HHG.

Your profile:

You have a successfully completed academic university degree, preferably with a doctorate. You also have relevant professional experience at a scientific or science-related institution as well as skills in science management - combined with sound knowledge of university planning and management procedures. You can demonstrate a particular affinity with the STEM field either through your studies or your previous professional experience. You recognize trends and quality requirements in the science system and are able to translate these into strategy and implementation concepts. You have excellent analytical thinking and judgment as well as outstanding conceptual skills. You are also characterized by your ability to express yourself in writing and your strong communication skills. These will enable you to present the content of planning concepts and proposals to committees and specialist departments in an appropriate manner. A very good command of English is a prerequisite and a solution-oriented and cooperative way of working, even under time pressure, is essential.
