Employee in the library service (EG 9 TV-H) - In the University Library - State Library and Murhard Library of the City of Kassel

Part-time with initially 90% and from 01.09.2019 with half the regular working hours of a full-time employee. The employment is to replace employees on leave and is initially limited until 31.12.2020 (§ 14 para. 1 sentence 2 no. 3 TzBfG).

Tasks

• Integrated media processing (acquisition and cataloging) of media
• Working at the service desk of the campus library (library information and advice)
• Providing information (user training: library introductions/guided tours)

Prerequisites:

• Degree in library science from a university of applied sciences or a bachelor's degree in library and information science
• Knowledge in the field of acquisition and cataloging
• Knowledge of the use of library application software, in particular the PICA modules
• Knowledge of rules and regulations (RDA, RAK-WB)
• Knowledge of bibliographic and other reference tools in electronic and conventional form
• Knowledge of research options in catalogs and bibliographic databases
• Willingness to work late and on Saturdays
• Flexible working hours adapted to the requirements of the job
• Willingness to undergo continuous further training

Advantageous are

• Experience with the tasks, proven by practical work
