Research Assistant (EG 13 TV-H) - in the Department of Transport Planning and Transport Systems

The position is initially limited until 30.11.2021 as part of the project: "Automatic determination of passenger demand from AFZS, WLAN, Bluetooth and connection data - Mobile DATA Fusion" (§ 2 para. 2 WissZeitVG). The possibility of a doctorate is given. An extension will be sought.

Tasks:

• Processing and analyzing data from public transport and smartphone use
• Derivation of correlations between passenger demand and smartphone usage data
• Publication of the research results in scientific journals
• Presentation and discussion of the research results at conferences

Prerequisites:

• A university degree (master's or diploma) in the field of transportation, preferably in the fields of transportation engineering, civil engineering, environmental engineering, computer science and mathematics, completed with at least good grades
• Good written and spoken German and English language skills

Advantageous are:

• Good specialist knowledge in the subject areas: Public transportation, traffic telematics and integrated traffic planning
• Thorough and independent way of working
• A high degree of organizational and teamwork skills
• Very good presentation and documentation skills
• Experience in dealing with large amounts of data
• Experience with program languages such as R or Phyton
