Research Assistant (m/f/d), EG 13 TV-H - in the field of "Integrated Transport Planning / Mobility Development"

Part-time with half the regular working hours of a full-time employee. The position is initially limited to 3 years with the possibility of extension for a further 2 years (qualification position according to § 65 HHG in conjunction with § 2 para. 1 sentence 1 WissZeitVG). The possibility of a doctorate or artistic qualification in accordance with the General Provisions for Artistic Qualifications for Qualification Positions in the Department of Architecture, Urban Planning, Landscape Planning is given.

In the field of "Integrated Transport Planning / Mobility Development", basic knowledge, central methods and instruments of innovative and sustainable transport and urban planning are taught.
In research, the main focus is on collaborative projects at the interface between urban and transport planning. Aspects such as digitalization (smart city), urban development, electromobility, intermodality, building culture and sustainability play a special role. We are looking for a committed person from the field of transport planning/transport geography or infrastructure design to fill the position.

Tasks:

• Collaboration in research and teaching in the department (preparation and implementation of courses, e.g. Bachelor's/Master's student projects)
• Collaboration in the organization of the department
• Participation in university committees

Requirements:

• Completed academic degree in the field of transportation or urban and regional planning, transportation or economic geography, infrastructure design
• Sound knowledge of relevant design programs (GIS, AutoCAD, VectorWorks)
• Basic knowledge of relevant traffic simulation and evaluation programs (PTV-VISSIM, EcoSpeed, SoundPLan)
• Proven aptitude for scientific work
• Constructive creativity or experience in the design and implementation of courses
• At least a good knowledge of English and a willingness to internationalize teaching and research are desirable
• Initiative and ability to work in a team; affinity for/understanding of university structures and academic working methods

An advantage:

• Professional experience or practical experience in a planning office, a municipality or similar.
