Action days "Cool places? - How more campus greenery can protect against heat"

For three days, developments in open space planning will be on display in the Campus Center. All members of the university will have the opportunity to find out about the planned improvements to increase biodiversity and quality of stay as well as the microclimate on campus. In addition to an exhibition, there are podcasts to listen to and you can find out, for example, what the planners had in mind when developing the optimization measures. A microclimate analysis provides insights into the effectiveness of the planned measures. In addition, tours of the campus areas present places where changes are planned and all participants are invited to discuss the sustainable development of the University of Kassel together.

The action days were initiated by the Green Office with the support of studiom2m3. The action days will take place from Tuesday, 21.10. to Thursday, 23.10.2025, from 10:00 to 16:00 in the foyer of the Campus Center. All university members are cordially invited.

During the public meeting, all interested parties will have the opportunity to contribute their suggestions and wishes for the design of the open spaces. The commissioned planning offices StadtLandschaft and k1 Landschaftsarchitekten will be on site to enter into a direct dialog with the participants and take up their ideas.
