Tasks:
The post holder should be involved in independent research and development tasks in the field of processing and characterization of new shape memory materials. The focus will be on work on thermo-mechanical microstructure manipulation in shape memory materials and research into functional stability using advanced in situ characterization methods. In particular, work on alloys based on Fe-Ni-Co-Al, Fe-Mn-Al-Ni, Co-Ni-Ga, Ni-Ti and Ti-Ta should be further developed.
Prerequisites:
Prerequisites are an above-average scientific university degree in mechanical engineering, materials engineering or similar, a doctorate already completed in said fields, as well as good IT and English skills. A high number of fundamental publications in the field of shape memory technology as well as a high visibility in the community are expected. In-depth knowledge of optical and electron-optical (SEM, TEM) methods as well as in-situ characterization methods is required.
