Senior Librarian (m/f/d), A 14 HBesG - in the Kassel University Library - State Library and Murhard Library of the City of Kassel

Tasks:

• Head of the Use Department
• Overall responsibility for the fulfillment of tasks as well as customer-oriented conception and further development of the services offered by the Department of Use
• Personnel management, planning and development
• Organization and further development of IT-supported user services in cooperation with the Digital Library Services Department
• Representing the University Library in user-related contexts within and outside the university
• Collaboration in the conceptual development of the library system and the services offered
• Supervision of subject librarians, preferably in the scientific and technical fields
• Providing information skills and specialist information
• Maintaining contact with teaching staff in the relevant departments

Requirements:

• Completed career examination for the higher service at academic libraries or Master's degree in library and information management
• Completed academic university degree, preferably in a scientific or technical subject
• Comprehensive knowledge of librarianship and good knowledge of IT library systems
• Ability and inclination for personnel management
• Initiative and ability to work independently,
• Innovative spirit, active participation in library change processes
• Experience and familiarity with the tasks of a subject librarian in an academic library
• Assertiveness, ability to deal with conflict, social skills
• Good communication skills (verbal and written)

Advantageous are

• Professional experience in a responsible, managerial position at a library
