Research Assistant (m/f/d), EG 13 TV-H - in the Department of Spanish and Latin American Literature and Cultural Studies

Part-time with half the regular working hours of a full-time employee. The employment is for the replacement of an employee during special leave and is initially limited until 30.09.2020 (§ 14 para. 1 no. 3 TzBfG) with the possibility of extension by 2 years (qualification position according to § 65 HHG in conjunction with § 2 para. 1 sentence 1 WissZeitVG). The possibility of a doctorate is given.

Tasks:

• Realization of a doctoral thesis in the context of the research topics of the subject area, in particular on political and social worlds of Latin America
• Collaboration in existing research projects
• Support in the acquisition of externally funded research projects
• Teaching activities to the extent of 2 SWS
• Support in the organization and implementation of conferences and workshops
• Fulfillment of administrative tasks at the Institute of Romance Studies

Requirements:

Completed academic degree in Romance Studies with a focus on Hispanic Studies (teaching degree or M.A.). Excellent knowledge of Spanish is expected, as well as a strong interest in literary studies with a cultural-theoretical profile and an interdisciplinary openness to sociological or political issues. Experience in university teaching (tutorials etc.) is also desirable. Ideally, you will have experience abroad and contacts in Latin America, as well as good French language skills.
