Research assistant (m/f/d), EG 13 TV-H - in the field of animal breeding

Part-time with half the regular working hours of a full-time employee.

The position is initially limited to 3 years with the possibility of extension for a further 3 years (qualification position according to § 65 HHG in conjunction with § 2 para. 1 sentence 2 WissZeitVG). The possibility of habilitation is given.

Tasks:

• Scientific collaboration in research and teaching in the field of animal breeding
• Independent teaching in the field of animal breeding
• Supervision of preliminary investigations for future research projects in the field of animal breeding
• Supervision of theses and dissertations

Requirements:

• University degree in agricultural sciences (MSc) completed with at least good results
• Completed doctorate in the field of animal breeding and domestic animal genetics (or comparable field)
• Very good knowledge in the field of recording behavioral traits
• Experience with MS-Office and at least one common statistical software (R or SAS)
• Very good written and spoken English skills
• Experience in data collection on practical farms (preferably with turkeys in organic husbandry)
• Experience in data analysis

Advantageous are:

• Thorough and independent working methods
• A high degree of organizational skills
• Experience in analyzing SNP data
