Skilled worker (EG 7 TV-H) -in the Construction, Technology and Real Estate Department, Technology and Infrastructure Group, Refrigeration, Compressed Air Supply and Combustion Engines Division

Tasks:

The job mainly involves the operational management and maintenance (inspection, servicing, repair and improvement) of the refrigeration and air conditioning systems at the University of Kassel. This covers a wide range of refrigeration (cooling capacity from approx. 1 kW to approx. 600 kW) and air conditioning systems. This also includes the existing recooling plants and the cold water distribution networks. In addition to operational management and maintenance and the associated documentation, the required activities also include participation in the management of the extensive plant inventory. The same applies to cooperation and support in the outsourcing of services in the area of maintenance of the refrigeration systems and for the initiation and/or implementation or support of the necessary expert and expert inspections, including the associated documentation.

The area of responsibility also includes involvement in the maintenance and operational management of the compressed air supply systems and in the area of combustion engines (e.g. emergency power systems and combined heat and power plant).

Requirements:

• Completed vocational training as a skilled worker, ideally as a mechatronics technician for refrigeration technology or electronics technician for industrial engineering with extended knowledge in the field of refrigeration technology, possibly also with training in related professions such as plant mechanic for sanitary, heating and air conditioning technology or automotive mechatronics technician, in each case with basic knowledge in the field of refrigeration technology
• Knowledge in the field of refrigeration and distribution
• Knowledge in all areas of technical building equipment, in particular in the field of ventilation systems, cold water systems and recooling plants
• Knowledge of the principles, structure and mode of operation of control systems, controllers and control circuits in technical building services equipment
• Driving license class B
• Motivation, commitment and a high level of service
• A broad range of technical knowledge
• Willingness to undergo continuous training and further education
• Willingness to participate in the general on-call duty of the University of Kassel and to participate in possible shift work

An advantage are

• Further training as an electrician for defined activities (unless professional training as an electrician has been completed or corresponding knowledge has been acquired as part of the training)
• Experience in dealing with the BetriebssicherheitsVO, the ChemklimaschutzV, the Wasserhaushaltsgesetz and the legal and technical regulations and specifications for the field of refrigeration technology as well as ventilation and air conditioning technology (e.g. VDI 6022, VDI 2047) including the corresponding detailed knowledge
• Knowledge in the field of compressed air supply and in the field of combustion engines/cogeneration units
• Knowledge of common software systems (Office etc.) and ideally knowledge of the SAP PM module

The job holder will generally work at the Holländischer Platz site of the University of Kassel, but may also work at other university sites depending on operational requirements.
