Tasks:

The task consists of the further development of methods and procedures for 3D real-time remote gas measurement technology based on infrared-optical remote measurement systems for automated use for applications in process and energy technology systems. For this purpose, an infrared-optical experimental setup is to be designed and constructed. The existing methods are to be extended, robustified, implemented and tested, characterized, validated and demonstrated in laboratory and free-field experiments. Measurement and data processing systems are available for the work.

Your teaching duties will consist in particular of the further development and supervision of laboratory practicals. You will also be involved in applying for third-party funded research projects.

You will also have the opportunity to gain early experience in leading a small working group by supervising student work and student assistants. We will support you in achieving your scientific and technical goals.

 

Requirements

  • Completed scientific university degree in mechatronics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or a comparable course of study with at least a good grade
  • Good knowledge of and interest in measurement technology, optics and digital image processing
  • Fluent written and spoken German and English
  • Programming experience in C/C++, ROS, Python, as well as in languages according to IEC-61131-3
  • Experience in thermography, gas measurement technology and sensor data fusion
