Vernissage "Bruckner - drawn" | An event for the Day for Literature

Whether Anton Bruckner and Louis Spohr met or whether Bruckner ever visited Kassel cannot be proven from the known sources. But there is evidence that a member of the Upper Austrian Draughtsmen's Guild grew up in Kassel. This is reason enough to present the paintings, drawings and caricatures of the Wage Drawers' Guild in Kassel to mark the 200th anniversary of Anton Bruckner. We discovered the works last year at the vernissage at the ABC (Anton Bruckner Centrum) in Ansfelden, where Anton Bruckner was born on September 4, 1824. And we thought they should be shown to a wider audience. The idea for issue 22 of Spohr Schriften was born.

The originals will be on display in the Murhardsche. Excerpts from issue 22 of Spohr Schriften will be presented on a large screen. With some of the artists from Upper Austria, accompanied by subtle guitar music from our curator Boris Teŝíc and his student Valentina Krempatic. A colleague of the two guitarists, Ronald, has composed something new, inspired by caricatures and drawings. The two musicians from the Louis-Spohr Music Academy will also be performing this for the first time in Kassel.
