The open book areas are freely accessible. Are still locked: The two lounges, the newspaper reading area and the roof terrace. The rules of the university, which are corona-related, must be observed. During your stay in the library you must wear a mouth and nose protection.

At the open locations Campus Library, Murhard's Library and Witzenhausen, some of the existing study places are available again. The places can be reserved online via a booking system. Masks are not required at the places of learning.

Important:
- Only places for individual work can be booked.
- The reservation is valid for one day during opening hours.
- The printout of the reservation must be at the place of study.
- The printout replaces the admission ticket.
- Only reserved and marked seats can be used.
- Please cancel any unused seats.


From Tuesday, June 2, 2020, the opening hours of the University Library will be extended and the Murhard Library will also reopen:

  • Campus library - Monday to Friday from 10-18
  • Murhard Library - Monday to Friday 10-15
  • Location Witzenhausen - Monday to Friday 10-15

From June 2, non-university members are again permitted to visit and use the library stocks.
From Wednesday, 1 July 2020, media whose loan periods have been exceeded will again be subject to regular reminders.
  • Until Tuesday, June 30, 2020 you may return all media whose loan period has already expired and, if necessary, borrow them again.
  • Alternatively, these media can be sent back to the UB Kassel by mail.
  • Outstanding prior reminder fees are to be paid per CampusCard by 30 June 2020 at any of the three open library locations.

During the corona-related restrictions on use, the library is open exclusively to the employees and students of the university (HMWK decree of 1 April 2020). At present, non-university members can only return reserved media. As far as possible, we recommend the extension of all other borrowed media.

 

At present, only media that you have previously reserved or ordered can be borrowed. Due to the blocking of the book areas, media from stocks at your own location can currently be ordered, as well.

Yes, during the opening hours mentioned above you can return media in the Campus Library, in the Murhard Library and at the Witzenhausen location.

No. All returned media will be quarantined for 36 hours. After this time, corona viruses are considered to be no longer active on dry surfaces and therefore harmless. Our media service staff work with disposable gloves.

 

No. Access to the book areas is currently not permitted. All desired media must be ordered.

The above-mentioned locations will remain closed for the time being. Required media can be ordered via the internal loan system. They will be provided for you on the pick-up shelf at the Campus Library. As usual, you will receive an e-mail as soon as the required media are available for pick-up. Please understand that the provision of media may take a little longer at present.
