Digital workshop on the topic of diversity and anti-discrimination for exercise instructors of general university sports

The speakers Gitta Axmann from the Sport University Cologne and Dirk Adams from context - bildung brought a lot of experience and expertise in this area and sensitized the group to this topic. The guiding questions of the day "Raising awareness of social diversity - when am I discriminating? Where do I experience it in others?" as well as sensitization for non-discrimination with regard to origin, gender and appearance were concretely elaborated and extensively discussed in the five-hour workshop on Zoom in theoretical and practical units. The exercise instructors were thus able to gain valuable insights and experience with regard to their courses in university sports.

Participation was voluntary for the instructors, which is why the coordinators Katarzyna Friedrich-Fil, Diversity Coordinator at the University of Kassel, and Annika Bramsiepe, staff member at the University Sports Department, were all the more pleased about the lively participation.

A little preview: On 11.12.2020 at 2 p.m. there will be a lecture on the topic "Inter* and Trans* in Sport". The lecture is aimed at all interested parties and registration is now possible via the website of the Women's and Equal Opportunities Office.
