Production hall on Campus North to be refurbished and converted

With the completion of the building, the rounding off of the ASL department on the northern area of the campus will be completed.  

The production hall, which is often referred to as the future heart of the department, will provide attractive project space for students. This will create seven large studio spaces on the first floor and a large student workspace with 126 seats and two meeting rooms on the upper floor. The energy refurbishment includes the installation of new windows and interior insulation. The building's technical systems will be completely renovated and the heat supply will be converted to district heating.

The construction site was already set up last year. The site was prepared, the driving surfaces were made, the construction power and water connections were installed, and containers and construction fencing were erected. After the construction site had been dormant for several months, work is now continuing. For the duration of the construction site, the access road between gatehouse A and gatehouse B will be closed. This means that no more delivery traffic can enter the site at this point. A large tarpaulin has been attached to the construction fence in the direction of the daycare center. The children of the daycare center are invited to paint it and will create a colorful work of art here.

The renovation project is being supervised by the Landesbetrieb Bau und Immobilien Hessen (LBIH) as the building contractor. The total cost is expected to be 9,400,000 euros. Two years are planned as the construction period.
