Research assistant (m/f/d), EG 13 TV-H - at the Institute of Mathematics

Part-time with half the regular working hours of a full-time employee. The position is initially limited for 3 years with the possibility of extension for a further 2 years (qualification position according to § 2 para. 1 sentence 1 WissZeitVG). The possibility of a doctorate is given.

Tasks:

• Teaching 2 semester hours per week in engineering mathematics for the electrical engineering and computer science degree programs
• Scientific collaboration in the research of the Discrete Optimization group or the Analysis group at the Institute of Mathematics. The current research focus of the working groups is in the areas of combinatorial and integer optimization or analysis of nonlinear evolution equations and mathematical fracture mechanics.

Prerequisites:

• University degree with good to very good grades in mathematics or computer science with specialization in applied discrete mathematics, analysis or theoretical computer science. The required degree must be available by the recruitment date at the latest.
• Good programming skills
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
