The applicant should be highly qualified in empirical sociological research and methodologies with broad experience in quantitative and qualitative methods. Successful candidates must demonstrate a strong publication record and success in securing external funding.

 

The Professor will be expected to teach BA and MA degree programs in the Faculty (Sociology and Political Science) as well as teacher training courses in Education and Social Sciences. The Professor is also expected to assume a leadership position in the Competence Center for Empirical Research Methods at the University of Kassel. The professor will also collaborate with INCHER (International Centre for Higher Education Research), an interdisciplinary research unit at the University of Kassel. Successful candidates are expected to work closely and guide young scientists with a particular emphasis on training in structured Ph.D. programs. Participation in academic self-governance is obligatory.
