Technician (EG 9 TV-H) - in the field of cutting and joining manufacturing processes

The Department of Cutting and Joining Manufacturing Processes at the University of Kassel deals with both cutting and joining manufacturing processes. The department focuses on welding technology and research into non-destructive testing.

Your tasks:

The following position is to be filled to support the Welding Technology Department:

• Supporting the scientific staff in the processing of publicly funded projects as well as industrial projects
• Carrying out destructive tests, supervision of test rigs and plant technology in the field of welding technology (laser and electron beam material processing / friction welding / spot welding / magnetic pulse welding)
• Carrying out feasibility studies (welding work)
• Collaboration in research and teaching in the welding technology specialist group

Your requirements

• Successfully completed training as a materials tester, industrial mechanic or similar training or further training as a technician
• Knowledge in the field of destructive testing technology (e.g. metallography)
• Careful, independent and team-oriented way of working
• Experienced handling of MS Office

Advantageous are

• Experience in handling, operating and programming machines and systems (CNC controls; e.g. Sinumerik 840) and robot control
• Knowledge of non-destructive testing technology (thermography)
• Knowledge in the field of materials science
