W 3 - Professorship for Business Informatics, in particular Business Process Management and System Development in the Digital Society

We are looking for a scientifically outstanding personality who represents the subject of business informatics and in particular the topics of business process management and system development in research and teaching. The focus will be on the new research area "Digital Transformation" and the teaching area "Digital Business". A connection to other research topics of the department as well as the University of Kassel, especially in the field of information technology design as well as within the framework of the Research Center for Information Technology Design (ITeG) is desirable.

The position holder should have a strong publication record in international peer-reviewed journals, be very well networked internationally, and have relevant teaching experience in the field of information systems and on the focus areas of the advertisement. A focus on design-oriented and interdisciplinary research is expected. Areas of particular interest include research interests in one or more of the following areas:

• Information security management, trustworthiness, and information privacy.
• Socio-technical systems design
• Operational applications and Big Data
• Design Science Research
• Ethical aspects of IT use
• Digital Life Long Learning

In teaching, the future position holder is required to represent the discipline in the bachelor's and master's degree programs of the department and beyond, and to regularly offer lectures at all qualification levels.

The willingness to cooperate with other disciplines represented in the department (economics, law, business education) as well as beyond the department, especially with the Department of Computer Science as well as within the framework of the Research Center for Information Technology Design is expected.

The future position holder should have a resilient network in research and industry and be able to lead a large scientific center (ITeG) together with the ITeG directorate in a goal- and value-oriented manner. Experience in the acquisition of research contracts and third-party funded projects, especially with public funding organizations as well as in industry, is required.

Participation in academic self-administration is part of the official duties.

The professorship should contribute to the internationalization of the department. The applicant should be able to teach courses in English.

The hiring and performance requirements of Sections 61, 62 of the Hessian Higher Education Act apply. The position is available for an unlimited period of time.
