The Hessian Section of the Constance Working Group for Medieval History, including its working meetings, has existed since 1964. Since then, now as the Hessian-Middle Rhine Section, it has offered scholars an opportunity to present their research and put it up for discussion.

The meetings usually take place once a semester and are hosted alternately in Darmstadt, Giessen, Kassel, Mainz and Marburg.
