Research Assistant (EG 13 TV-H) - in the Department of Comparative Politics

Part-time with half the regular working hours of a full-time employee. The position is initially limited to 3 years with the possibility of extension for a further 2 years (qualification position according to § 65 HHG in conjunction with § 2 para. 1 sentence 1 WissZeitVG). The possibility of a doctorate is given.

Tasks:

• academic services in research and teaching in the field of comparative politics and general principles of political science (propaedeutic course)
• Independent work on a research subfield in comparative politics
• own academic research/further qualification (doctorate)

Prerequisites:

• University degree with at least a good grade in political science, thesis preferably in the field of comparative politics or with international references
• Doctoral project in the field of comparative politics, experience abroad
• Experience in teaching (tutorials, teaching assignments)
• Very good knowledge of English and another foreign language, preferably French/Spanish

Advantageous are:

• Interest in the development of democracy in Europe, politics in the immigration society, civil society and political culture
• Previous knowledge in the field of political sociology
• Thorough and independent working methods
• a high degree of organizational skills
