Training content

• Fields of application and development trends, system architecture, hardware and operating systems
• Installing and configuring application software
• Operation and configuration of stationary (PC) and mobile (notebooks, tablets, smartphones) end devices
• Service creation and utilization
• Market and customer relations
• Commercial management and control,
• programming techniques
• Analysis and design, program creation and documentation
• test procedures
• Networks, services, data protection and copyright, system maintenance, interface concepts, system configuration, networks, system solutions (IT service center)
• Introduction of systems
• Service/user support, error analysis
• Project planning, implementation and control

Prerequisites

• At the time of starting the apprenticeship, you should have a secondary school leaving certificate (Realschulabschluss)
• Grades in mathematics and English at least "satisfactory" or better

Advantages are

• Interest in data processing, especially network technology
• The ability to think logically
• A sense of responsibility

Duration and structure of training

The apprenticeship lasts 3 years.

An intermediate examination takes place halfway through the training period.

Training remuneration

A monthly training allowance is paid in accordance with § 8 Para. 1 of the collective agreement for trainees in the state of Hesse (TVA-H BBiG).

Training location

The practical training takes place alternatively in the

• IT Service Center (Holländischer Platz location),
• Department of Electrical Engineering/Computer Science (Wilhelmshöher Allee site) or
• Department of Architecture, Urban Planning, Landscape Planning (Holländischer Platz site)

of the University of Kassel. 

The vocational school is the Oskar-von-Miller-Schule in Kassel.
