Research assistant (EG 13 TV-H) - in the field of cutting and joining manufacturing processes

The position is initially limited to 24 months (§ 2 para. 1 WissZeitVG). An extension will be sought. The possibility of a doctorate is given.

The Department of Cutting and Joining Manufacturing Processes at the University of Kassel deals with both cutting and joining manufacturing processes, with a focus on adhesive bonding technology. Numerous issues relating to adhesive bonding are investigated here, both within the framework of publicly funded projects and in industrial projects. 

Your tasks:

As part of publicly funded projects, the innovative joining process of adhesive bonding is to be researched and characterized together with industry and research partners. The main tasks include the scientific processing and cooperative management of these research topics, the implementation, evaluation and interpretation of experimental investigations, the supervision of student assistants and participation in the implementation of courses.

Your requirements:

• Above-average academic university degree (diploma or master's degree) in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, materials science, chemistry, physics or process engineering
• A careful, independent and team-oriented way of working
• very good written and spoken communication skills (German and English)

Advantageous are:

• Experience in the fields of production technology, manufacturing technology, adhesive or plastics technology and/or construction technology
