Ideas from Hessen with a difference - start-up teams present themselves at the founders' slam

In April 2018, 14 teams from Hessian universities started the accelerator program of the first "Hessen Ideen Stipendium". On 20 September from 5 p.m., they will present their start-up ideas at the Fraport Forum at Frankfurt Airport.

The "Hessen Ideen Stipendium" was awarded for the first time on April 1, 2018 for a period of six months by the Hessian Ministry of Science and Art. It is aimed at university members and graduates with an affinity for start-ups who are in the early stages of developing a business idea. The amount of the grant is 2,000 euros per month. A total of 40 start-up teams from 10 Hessian universities applied for the scholarship. 14 projects were selected for funding. Over the past six months, the teams have undergone the "Ideas Accelerator", a coaching and qualification program that prepares them for the start of their own business. In addition to a personal coach at the university to support the founders, the scholarship holders met experienced entrepreneurs who shared their experiences and took part in various workshops.

As part of the founders' slam, the scholarship teams now present themselves to the public. Unlike in "classic" presentations or investor pitches, in the slam they are asked to present their start-up idea in an entertaining and understandable way. In the style of science slam or poetry slam formats, the audience can vote live to see which team has delivered the best slam.

All interested parties are welcome to take part in the slam and get to know the ideas. The coordinators of the "Hessen Ideas Scholarship" also offer interested founders the opportunity to find out more about the scholarship program. Applications for the next round of scholarships are still possible until 30.09.
