The position is initially limited to 3 years with the possibility of extension for a further 2 years (qualification position according to § 65 HHG in conjunction with § 2 para. 1 sentence 1 WissZeitVG). The possibility of a doctorate is given.

 

Tasks

  • Academic collaboration in research and teaching in the field of programming languages/methodology (e.g. presentation of research results at conferences, collaboration in the application process for research projects,  Leading exercises in "Algorithms and Data Structures", supervision of student project work)
  • Preparation for a doctorate in the field of parallel programming (e.g. task-based parallel                                                            programming, productivity of parallel programming systems, fault tolerance at program level)
  • Teaching obligation of 4 SWS according to Hess. Teaching Obligation Ordinance

 

Prerequisites:

  • University degree in computer science with above-average results
  • Very good oral and written communication skills in German, good knowledge of English

 

Advantageous are:

  • in-depth knowledge of programming languages, algorithm design and parallel programming (e.g. MPI,                OpenMP, PGAS languages)
  • Determined, thorough and independent way of working
  • initial teaching experience, e.g. through tutoring activities
