Research Associate (EG 13 TV-H) - in the - Department of Technical Thermodynamics

The position is initially limited until 30.09.2021 within the project "DynaWEA - From dynamics to acoustics of a gearless wind turbine; Subproject: Development of alternative cooling concepts" (§ 2 Abs. 2 WissZeitVG). The possibility for doctoral studies is given.

Tasks:

• Technical project planning and measurement conception
• Concept development of a complex thermal management for a given system
• Coordination of the construction of a test facility for multiphase heat transfer under dynamic conditions

• Execution of dynamic experimental investigations on heat and mass transfer

• Preparation of extensive analyses and literature studies
• Research and development in the field of heat pipes
• Model development for the transferability of project results
• Supervision of project and final theses
• Guidance of assistants and trainees
• Support in the administrative management of the project and liaison with project sponsors and project partners

Requirements:

• Completed scientific university studies in the field of mechanical engineering with a specialization in energy and process engineering.
• Very good knowledge of research methods and analytical procedures in the field of thermodynamics and heat transfer
• Very good knowledge in performing experimental work in multiphase systems and its evaluation
• Extensive experience in the use of measurement techniques and presentation of results
• Very good knowledge in the field of programming for the creation of energetic models
• Very good knowledge of English and German for project coordination is desired.

Advantageous are:

• Very good English and German language skills for project coordination
• Organizational skills
• Ability to lead discussions
• Willingness for further scientific qualification in theory and practice.
