W 1 - Qualification professorship with development commitment for computer algebra - in the Department of Mathematics and Natural Sciences - Institute of Mathematics

Job Profile:
We are looking for an individual who has an outstanding international record in a current research area in computer algebra. Applications are particularly desired from individuals whose research is closely related to applications or to differential equations. Willingness to engage in interdisciplinary collaboration with colleagues in the natural sciences and/or engineering is expected. Experience in obtaining external funding is desired.

Teaching responsibilities include the full breadth of algebra and computer algebra for all majors in the department. The professorship is involved in teaching export to engineering and, together with colleagues in the Department of Mathematics, is also responsible for events in mathematics for students in teacher training programs.

For this professorship, participation in the academic self-governance of the university is part of the service responsibilities.

The professorship is filled on a tenure-track basis. The relevant statutes of the University of Kassel are authoritative for the procedure.

Requirements profile:
The hiring requirements and performance requirements according to §§ 61, 62, 64 of the Hessian Higher Education Act apply.

In particular, the aptitude for scientific work and pedagogical aptitude are required.
