Research assistant (m/f/d), EG 13 TV-H - in the field of animal husbandry in the tropics and subtropics

Part-time with 65.00 percent of the regular working hours of a full-time employee. The position is limited for 5 months (§ 2 Abs. 1 WissZeitVG).

Tasks:

• Independent teaching in English in the module "Multidisciplinary research in tropical production systems" including supervision of student exercises on data collection, evaluation and communication (scope: 2.6 SWS).
• Independent evaluation, statistical analysis and interpretation of data on phenotypic variation of dairy cows in South Indian family farms along a rural-urban gradient and preparation of a scientific manuscript in English.

Prerequisites:

• Academic university degree (MSc) in general agricultural sciences with a focus on livestock sciences completed with very good results;
• Experience in the development and implementation of household surveys and cluster analyses;
• At least 1.5 years of research experience in countries of the Global South;
• Excellent written and spoken English;
• Very good knowledge of spreadsheets and statistical programs;
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Teaching experience is an advantage:

• Teaching experience; Experience in supervising BSc and MSc students.
