Research assistant in organic crop production (m/f/d), EG 13 TV-H - in the field of organic agriculture and crop production

Part-time with half the regular working hours of a full-time employee, limited until 30.09.2020 according to § 2 Abs. 1 WissZeitVG.

The places of employment are Frankenhausen and Witzenhausen.

Tasks:

• Conception, supervision and evaluation of a trial on substrate suitability for the vicinity of laying hen houses
• Conducting courses in the field of sustainability assessment and crop production 
• Participation in courses at the Frankenhausen domain (field days)
• Supervision of student projects and theses
• Assumption of organizational tasks (e.g. preparation and follow-up as well as implementation of field days for science and practice)
• Setting up a demo system for substrates for the vicinity of laying hen houses
• Collaboration on publications and the project & Experimental field guide

Requirements:

• MSc degree in agricultural sciences, preferably with a focus on organic farming

• Good knowledge and practical experience in agricultural experimentation, especially in cooperation with practical farms
• Good knowledge and experience in the context of taking, analyzing and evaluating soil samples
• Good knowledge of the planning, design, implementation and evaluation of laboratory and model experiments
• Experience in the design of scientific posters
• Very good knowledge of organic farming, especially in the field of soil & plants
• Driving license B

• Ability to work in a team and willingness to work across disciplines
   

Of advantage are

• Good knowledge of the English language
• Experience in the organization of field days
