The professorship should deal with engineering aspects of construction informatics in research and teaching with a focus on "Digitization of construction and planning processes". The applicant is expected to have scientific expertise in one or more of the following research areas:

  • Building Information Modeling (BIM)
  • Digital modeling, analysis and networking of business processes
  • Computer-aided simulation of manufacturing processes
  • RFID in the construction industry
  • Computer Aided Facility Management (CAFM)

 

The professorship should represent the full breadth of construction informatics in the teaching of the Civil Engineering and Environmental Engineering degree programs. In addition to the existing lectures and exercises, this also includes providing new impetus with regard to IT-supported teaching formats. A particular focus of teaching is on IT applications in construction operations.

 

In addition to proof of outstanding academic work in relevant research areas, which must be documented by corresponding publications, several years of professional experience with close practical relevance, very good teaching skills, experience in acquiring externally funded research projects and a willingness to engage in interdisciplinary professional cooperation are expected.

 

Active involvement in the curricular development of the Civil Engineering and Environmental Engineering degree programs and participation in academic self-administration are part of the duties.
