Part-time with half the regular working hours of a full-time employee. The position is initially limited to 3 years with the possibility of extension for a further 2 years (qualification position according to § 65 HHG in conjunction with § 2 para. 1 sentence 1 WissZeitVG). Tasks:

  • Academic collaboration in research and teaching in the field of Modern and Contemporary History (approx. from 1789 to the present),
  • Independent work on a research topic in the field of modern and contemporary history as part of the dissertation,
  • Support in the preparation of applications for third-party funding,
  • Independent planning, implementation and follow-up of teaching to the extent of 2 SWS.

Prerequisites:

  • Academic university degree in Modern and Contemporary History with very good to good results,
  • In addition to German, very good knowledge of English and good knowledge of another modern foreign language,
  • Doctoral project at the beginning.

Advantageous are:

  • Very good knowledge of approaches to global and entanglement history and/or concepts of modern cultural history,
  • Experience with archival research,
  • Experience of studying and/or researching in other European and/or non-European countries,
  • Thorough and independent working methods,
  • A high degree of organizational skills,
