Technician (m/f/d), (up to EG 9 TV-H) - in the field of cutting and joining manufacturing processes

The position is initially limited until 31.12.2020 to work on the project "NaHoRo - Rectangular construction hollow profiles made of bio-based multi-material systems as a substitution for metal profiles" (§ 14 para. 1 sentence 2 no. 1 TzBfG).

The Department of Cutting and Joining Manufacturing Processes at the University of Kassel deals with both cutting and joining manufacturing processes. The department focuses on welding technology and research into non-destructive testing. 

Tasks:

The following position is to be filled to support the Welding Technology Department:

• Support of the scientific staff in the processing of publicly funded projects as well as industrial projects
• Carrying out destructive tests, supervision of test rigs and plant technology in the field of welding technology (primarily friction stir welding)
• Carrying out feasibility studies (welding work)

Requirements:

• Successfully completed training as a materials tester, industrial mechanic or similar training or further training as a technician
• Careful, independent and team-oriented way of working
• Ability to think logically
• Good handling of MS Office
• Very good knowledge of German

An advantage:

• Knowledge in the field of destructive testing technology (e.g. tensile testing, metallography)
• Knowledge of CAD (e.g. ProE, SolidWorks)
