Research assistant (m/f/d), EG 13 TV-H - in the field of solid construction

The position is initially limited to 36 months within the framework of the project "Experimental Investigations on Earthquake-Resistant Building" (§ 2 Abs. 2 WissZeitVG). An extension is being sought.

Tasks:

The scope of duties includes scientific services in research and teaching in the field of solid construction. For this purpose, participation in experimental and theoretical research projects in the fields of earthquake-resistant construction with masonry and structures with ultra-high-strength concrete is mainly planned. An involvement in the scientific and practical training rounds off the range of tasks.

Requirements:

• At least a good academic degree (Diplom II from the University of Kassel, TH, TU, MSc. or comparable foreign degree) in civil engineering, specializing in structural engineering/solid construction is a basic requirement.
• Basic knowledge and experience with modern numerical methods for the calculation of solid structures is required
• Good English language skills are required (publication proof)
• An independent, committed, thorough, cooperative way of working and a very good ability to express oneself in German, both verbally and in writing, on a native-speaker level are expected

Advantageous are:

• Profound knowledge of testing in the field of solid construction
• Special knowledge in the field of structural dynamics and earthquake engineering
• Experience in engineering practice
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work on schedule
