Research Assistant (m/f/d), EG 13 TV-H - in the field of numerical mechanics

The position is limited for an initial period of 24 months within the scope of the third-party funded project "Finite Element Calculation of the Failure of Bonded Joints" (§ 2 Abs. 2 WissZeitVG). The possibility to do a PhD is given.

Tasks:

• Coordination and independent processing of the research project.
• FEM-modeling of technological samples and components and calculation of the vibration behavior
• Programming of an extended material model into a FEM program
• Publication of research results in scientific journals
• Presentation and discussion of the research results at technical committees and conferences
• Participation in conferences

Requirements:

• University degree in mechanical engineering,
  mechatronics, civil engineering, physics or technomathematics completed with at least good grades.

Advantageous are:

• Previous knowledge of the finite element method (FEM) and material theory
• Thorough and independent way of working
• High degree of organizational skills
• Very good presentation and written reporting skills
• Experience in the use of a FEM program
