Tasks:

The scope of duties includes services in research and teaching of the department "Chemistry of Mesoscopic Systems" and includes the independent performance of research work on the synthesis of organic molecular wires and studies on their interaction with nanoparticles, structured surfaces and light. Furthermore, duties include participation in events organized by the Nanostructure Research Center CINSaT, as well as assisting the department in mentoring students in undergraduate courses in the department.

 

Requirements:

Graduated with a minimum of good academic standing in the nanosciences (Master's degree in Nanostructure Sciences/Nanosciences) with extensive hands-on experience in organic synthesis chemistry. Extensive experience in molecular wire fabrication and characterization is a mandatory requirement as well as confident application of modern chemical analytical methods (NMR, MS, UV/Vis, fluorescence, DLS). Desirable are computer skills (MS-Office, ChemDraw on Mac platform) especially for performing web-based database searches; willingness and ability to work independently, good command of written and spoken English, experience in supervising students and in guiding technical staff.
