Research assistant (m/f/d), EG 13 TV-H - at the Institute of Philosophy

Part-time with two-thirds (2/3) of the regular working hours of a full-time employee, limited to two years with the possibility of extension by one year (§ 2 para. 1 WissZeitVG). The position is to be filled at the earliest possible date. The position is part of the "Philosophy of Situated Cognition" project funded by the University of Kassel (Institute of Philosophy, Head: Dr. Mark-Oliver Casper).

The "Philosophy of Situated Cognition" deals with the 4E theories (extended mind, enactivism, embedded mind, embodiment theory) and focuses on the systematic recording and philosophical evaluation of their methods.

Task profile:

• Realization of a doctoral thesis in the context of the project (philosophy of science, 4E theories, philosophy of mind)
• Collaboration in the development of a third-party funded research proposal
• Support in the organization and implementation of conferences and workshops
• Teaching activities to the extent of 2 SWS
• Fulfillment of administrative tasks in the self-administration of the research project

These tasks will be discussed, structured and, where necessary, carried out cooperatively within the project.

Requirements profile:

Completed academic university degree in philosophy (B.A. and M.A.). Ideally, knowledge of philosophy of science and embodiment theory or the willingness to build this up quickly. With good content knowledge of and interest in the debate on situated cognition (4E theories, embodiment theory, enactivism), applications from candidates from psychology, cognitive science or science and technology studies will also be considered.

The call for applications is aimed at people who are pursuing a doctorate in philosophy. As this is a junior research group project, the ability to work in a team is an important prerequisite for successful participation in the project. Experience in university teaching is desirable but not necessary.
