Consultant (m/f/d), EG 13 TV-H - in the Development Planning Department

Part-time with 85% of the regular working hours of a full-time employee.

Tasks:

• Further development of the university-wide strategy for the consolidation of strategic academic controlling in cooperation with the Departments of the Central University Administration, the central institutions and the departments
• Further development of the academic management information system and the university's research information system, including system administration/configuration, data modeling and quality assurance of databases
• Conception and implementation of analyses for planning and quality assurance in studies, teaching and research
• Preparation of academic and resource-related data for analyses for planning and in studies, teaching and research
• Collaboration in internal university working groups
• Supporting users of the academic management information system and the research information system of the University of Kassel
• IT representative for the university management and the Department of Development Planning, coordination of the websites of the central committees and the Department of Development Planning

Requirements:

• Completed academic university degree (Master's or comparable), preferably in a subject relevant to the job profile, which has also provided good knowledge of descriptive statistics
• Initial professional experience in academic controlling
• Good knowledge and experience in the (further) development, administration and use of database-supported web applications
• Sound knowledge of Excel combined with good analytical skills and a precise way of working
• Very good German and good IT-related English skills combined with strong oral and written expression
• Strong interpersonal skills and excellent teamwork skills

Advantageous are:

• Familiarity with official higher education statistics and the related quality assurance of data
• Initial experience with business intelligence software solutions (e.g. MicroStrategy) and research information systems (e.g. Converis) as well as in the use of ETL software solutions (e.g. Talend)
• Good knowledge of university structures and processes
