Research assistant (m/f/d), EG 13 TV-H - in the field of technical thermodynamics

The position is initially limited until 31.05.2022 as part of the project "Increasing the energy efficiency of production processes through innovative heat exchangers: evaporation and condensation of mixtures" (§ 2 para. 2 WissZeitVG). The possibility of a doctorate is given.

Tasks:

• Literature study on heat transfer with phase change (basics, operating behavior, transport processes for design)
• Experimental investigation of heat transfer during boiling and condensation of pure substances and mixtures in a pilot plant
• Theoretical and experimental investigation of nucleation during phase change in saturated fluids of multi-component systems
• Supervision of projects and theses in the field of multiphase heat transfer
• Supervision of assistants and interns

Requirements:

• Completed scientific university degree in the field of mechanical engineering with a specialization in energy and process engineering
• Very good knowledge of research methods and analysis procedures in the field of heat and mass transfer of multiphase processes with different components
• Very good knowledge of the commissioning of equipment on a laboratory and pilot plant scale for the investigation of multiphase processes
• Very good knowledge in the field of experimental investigation of nucleation and bubble formation mechanisms during the phase transition of pure substances and mixtures

An advantage are

• Good knowledge of English

• Ability to conduct discussions
• Willingness for further scientific qualification in theory and practice
