Research assistant (m/f/d), EG 13 TV-H - in the field of sociological theory

Part-time with half the regular working hours of a full-time employee. The position is initially limited for 3 years with the possibility of extension for a further 2 years (qualification position according to § 2 para. 1 sentence 1 WissZeitVG). The possibility of a doctorate is given.

Tasks:

• Academic collaboration in research and teaching (2 SWS) in the field of sociological theory
• Independent work on a research sub-area in the subject area of the department as part of a doctorate
• Collaboration in the preparation of third-party funding applications
• Support in (interdisciplinary) scientific networking within and outside the University of Kassel through preparation of conferences, coordination activities, participation in publications, etc., especially in the field of consumer research

Prerequisites:

• University degree in social sciences completed with very good results. The required degree must be available by the date of employment at the latest.
• Sound and broad knowledge of sociological theories
• Interest and knowledge in the research areas of economic and consumer sociology as well as digitalization and democracy

Advantageous are:

• Thorough and independent scientific work
• Good basic knowledge and experience in the field of qualitative research methods

The submission of a short, informative exposé for a dissertation project in the field of the above-mentioned research and subject areas is requested.
