Research Assistant (m/f/d), EG 13 TV-H - at the Institute of Mathematics

Part-time with half of the regular working time of a full-time employee. The position is initially limited for 3 years with the possibility of extension for another 2 years (qualification position according to § 2 Abs. 1 Satz 1 WissZeitVG). The possibility of doctoral studies is given.

Tasks:

• Teaching to the extent of 2 semester hours per week in engineering mathematics for the courses of study in electrical engineering and computer science.
• Scientific collaboration in the research of the working group Discrete Optimization or the working group Analysis at the Institute of Mathematics. The current research interests of the research groups are in the areas of combinatorial and integer optimization or analysis of nonlinear evolution equations and mathematical fracture mechanics.

Prerequisites:

• Graduation with good to very good grades from an academic university in mathematics or computer science with specialization in applied discrete mathematics, analysis, or theoretical computer science. Required degree must be received no later than the date of hire.
• Good programming skills
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
