Workshop series "Ethics of globalization": Feminist perspectives on globalization

Organizer: inside: Franziska Paulmann, Jens Schnitker-v. Wedelstaedt

In global ethics, there are numerous debates about the just handling of migration and flight, the challenges of man-made climate change, crises of democracy and capitalism and how to deal with tendencies of increasing radicalization of political and social convictions. In the majority of these cases, empirical research indicates that women in particular are affected by the negative effects of these changes. They therefore represent a particularly vulnerable group globally, whose perspective requires special consideration in global ethics. At the same time, feminist perspectives in research, activism and politics are increasingly confronted with publicly expressed and enforced anti-feminist viewpoints.
In light of this tension, we would like to discuss the following questions, among others, in this workshop: When and how can feminist perspectives be effective in global ethics issues? What problems are these approaches exposed to in practice and in theory? What potential does the inclusion of feminist approaches hold for theories and practices of global ethics?
