Citizens' University: Lifelong learning and education for all

The diverse range of courses offered by the University of Kassel offers a wide selection of lecture series, lectures and seminars from different subject areas such as humanities and cultural studies, arts and social sciences, economics, technology and natural sciences. The program follows the idea of Studium Generale, the selection of courses can be freely designed and adapted to one's own needs.

The new guest student program consists of three different formats to provide a broad range of academic and cultural experiences. The first format, GASTCLASSIC, offers attendance at exciting lectures and seminars in all departments, as well as exclusive tours in cooperation with the MHK under the "Science Meets Art" program. The second format, GASTSOLO, offers the opportunity to explore a specific subject area by attending one lecture or seminar per semester. The third format, GUEST SCHOOL, is geared specifically toward students in 10th through 13th grades and includes attendance at any number of courses in all disciplines to give them the opportunity to learn about different fields of study and explore their interests and abilities.

The goal of the University of Kassel's Visiting Students Program is to promote lifelong learning and make education accessible to all. The University of Kassel would like to create a platform for all those interested to broaden their knowledge horizons and engage with issues in science and research.
