Kassel wants to know - the university gives answers

The HNA had called on its readers to submit questions and, together with the university, made a selection. Researchers will provide insights - scientifically sound and at the same time understandable for everyone from schoolchildren to doctors. The spectrum ranges from ideas to combat the housing shortage in cities and the energy potential of buildings to the origins of food prices and the question of whether slightly damp wood burns better than dry wood. The visitors will get answers in short lectures, film contributions and an interview. The moderation takes over HNA editor-in-chief Axel Grysczyk.

"The event is also intended to highlight how much scientific expertise is available in our region and the ways in which new insights are constantly being gained in research at Kassel University," said Grysczyk. University President Prof. Dr. Ute Clement added: "As a university, we claim to contribute to solving the major challenges facing society, and at the same time we stand ready as a point of contact for what the region is concerned about. We are interested in what issues people are concerned about. This novel event is a wonderful format to engage in conversation."

The event will be held May 16, 6:30 p.m., at the University of Kassel's Gießhaus, Mönchebergstrasse 5. Admission is free. Students are welcome, as are adults.
