Frank Uekötter is Professor of Environmental Humanities at the University of Birmingham and one of the best-known environmental historians in the German-speaking world. He is currently working on a global history of monoculture, building on earlier works such as Im Strudel: Eine Umweltgeschichte der modernen Welt (Campus, 2020) and Die Wahrheit ist auf dem Feld. A Knowledge History of German Agriculture (Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht, 2010).
