Financing your stay

Expenses

Students at the University of Kassel are required to pay the semester fees; they comprise charges for administrative work, the Student Services organisation, the semester ticket for public transport and the General Students' Committee ("AStA"). These fees have to be paid when you enrol. More information can be found here.

There are also other living costs to take into consideration, such as rent, food, health insurance, books etc, which, depending on your flat and personal needs, can vary between EUR 600 and EUR 1,000 per month. For more information, see the section on the Studentenwerk Kassel website.

In this section of our website, we give you an overview of the steps that you need to take to organise a successful PhD project. This covers everything – from establishing initial contact with the university to your departure after successfully completing your dissertation.
