The workshop invites a joint discussion on how participant observation and the analysis of society (could) be connected. The starting point is Olaf Tietje's research on social participation in Barcelona. The author combines this with a methodological reflection on the connection between ethnography and critical social theory. In the second part, we will build a bridge to our research and thoughts on the topic.
The workshop serves as the kick-off event for the ethnography working group in FB 05. In this sense, all interested parties, including students, are very welcome!
