Civil engineering and environmental engineering top the CHE ranking - Other top subjects

Various Bachelor's degree programmes were evaluated in this round of the ranking. Kassel's result in civil engineering is outstandingly good (as in previous surveys). Student assessments are part of the evaluation: Here, the general study situation at the University of Kassel was assessed with 4.4 out of 5 stars, the highest value of all universities assessed. The civil engineering course at the University of Kassel also received top marks for the range of courses on offer, support from teaching staff and IT equipment.

There were also pleasing results in environmental engineering : In the students' opinion, the general study situation received 4.3 out of 5 stars, which is also the highest score of all the universities assessed. The IT facilities are also excellent.

The subjects of Architecture, Psychology and Mechanical Engineering landed in the top group for various assessment criteria. Allsubjects at the University of Kassel included in the ranking are in the top group when it comes to support at the start of studies. This was also the case in the rankings of previous years.

No student assessments are published for Kassel in the subjects of mechatronics, Romance studies and electrical engineering; the response rate to the student survey was too low here. However, electrical engineering scored well in terms of third-party funding per academic.

Other degree programmes were not included in this round of the ranking.

The Vice President for Studies and Teaching, Prof. Dr. René Matzdorf, was pleased with the results: "The Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering has now once again impressed in this survey and other subjects have received good marks. Our continuous quality management and the further development of the degree programmes are thus paying off. All interested young people who are thinking about studying in these disciplines know that they are in good hands in Kassel: They are in good hands in Kassel."

The CHE University Ranking, which appears in the ZEIT Study Guide and on ZEIT ONLINE, surveys around a third of all subjects every year and claims to be the most comprehensive comparison of universities in the German-speaking world.
