Kassel MINT-Mach-Saturday again with great response

Heat or no heat - curiosity won out: despite the summer heat, the Wilhelmshöher Allee site of the University of Kassel was transformed into a lively discovery forum for Mathematics, Computer Science, Natural Sciences and Technology (STEM) on Saturday, June 14. This year's MINT-Mach-Saturday attracted around 500 visitors, who experienced a varied program between 10 am and 4 pm.

For the third time, the MINT Hub at the University of Kassel invited visitors to explore and discover - in midsummer temperatures that did nothing to dampen the crowds.

Guests were able to get hands-on at around 20 interactive hands-on stations. In addition to a simulator for virtual welding, programming offers, soldering stations, 3D printing projects and the STEM van from the North Hesse School Research Center invited visitors to try things out. Young researchers from "Jugend forscht" also presented their projects and provided insights into their work.

The STEM Faculties also offered a varied range of experiments: A self-built water rocket took off and a bending beam made of chocolate was tested for its breaking strength. There were also live demonstrations of experiments in materials technology, technical dynamics, power electronics and Physics. They were also able to build simple electronic circuits themselves.

As a small thank you, all the young participants who helped out at the stations by tinkering, programming and researching received a surprise to take home.

The MINT-Mach-Saturday was supported by Volkswagen, the employers' association HESSENMETALL Nordhessen, Micromata GmbH and SCHMIDTSCHE SCHACK | ARVOS GmbH.
