University of Kassel surveys students and employees on mobility

How do students and employees get to the university - and what has changed in recent years? In order to provide well-founded answers to these questions, the University of Kassel is launching a comprehensive follow-up survey on the mobility of its students and employees in two waves from June 16, 2025.

The aim is to evaluate the measures taken so far on the way to more environmentally friendly and socially acceptable mobility and to identify further potential for improvement. The university has once again commissioned the Department of Transport Planning and Transport Systems, headed by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Carsten Sommer.

The first comprehensive surveys were already carried out in 2022. The follow-up survey that is now beginning is intended to identify changes in mobility behavior and evaluate the impact of measures that have already been implemented - such as the improved bicycle parking facilities.

"Only with up-to-date and complete data can we further develop mobility services in a tailored manner," explains Prof. Sommer. "That's why it's important that as many students and employees as possible take part in the survey."

The results should flow directly into the further development of sustainable mobility strategies at the University of Kassel. "Every time you take part, you help to make the university more environmentally friendly and sustainable," Sommer continues. Compliance with all applicable data protection guidelines is of course guaranteed.

The survey will start in a first wave for students on June 16, 2025. All members of the university will receive a personal invitation by e-mail to their university mailbox with the link to participate.
